Where is the house located?
Toronto Guest House is located in the middle east of Toronto.
How far is public transit?
It takes 2 minutes to walk to 2 different buses stops that running on two main
Routes. The Don Mills Subway Station and the Scarborough Town Center Station
Are 15 minutes bus ride away. The Kennedy Subway Station is 20
minutes ride away; The Go Transit Station is just 15 minutes walk away.
How long does it take to get downtown Toronto?
It takes approximately 25 minutes to get to downtown by driving, or 40-50
minutes by bus.
Is it all amenities (restaurants/grocery store etc.) in walking distance?
Toronto Guest House is nestled in a very convenient community. All amenities
are within 3 minutes walking distance, they are bus/train station, big shopping mall, Wal-Mart, Grocery store, Postal Office, Library, Restaurant, Food Supermarket, Banks...etc. On top of that, our house is not far away from Human Resource Center (for SIN Card), Ministry of Health Office (for Health Card), and Ministry of Transportation Office (for Health Card), and Ministry of Transportation Office (for Driving Licence).
Is there any advance for reservation?
Yes, rooms are always busy, so we need people to reserve at least 15 days
beforehand and after the flight ticket(s) is/are fixed, please reconfirm again with us. It is always good if you reserve your accommodation earlier. Otherwise, the required accommodation might not be available.
How can I get a confirmation about our reservation?
We will send an Email to you to confirm your reservation. Please wait until the
confirmation of reservation before coming. However, at any time you may contact us at the number on the web site to get the confirmation.
Is it mandatory to sign for a Month?
Actually, depends on the length of guests stay in our hostel, we offer
daily/weekly/monthly rate, if people stay here less than 7 days (includes 7 days), we charged by daily, more than 2 weeks, we charged by weekly, full of a month, people can enjoy our monthly rate. That means if you reserved the room for a month and you leave earlier than expected, we will switch to weekly rate based on how long you have lived. If by any chance you do leave early, you must have already lived half of the time that you reserved, if not you have to pay for it even if you leave earlier. (e.g. reserve 1 month, live or pay at least for 15 days with weekly rate).
What is the tax on top of daily/weekly/monthly rate?
The price includes tax already, and it also includes: tax, hydro, cable TV, internet access, free local phone and parking.
Do you have special rate if I stay for a week or a month?
Yes, you will save approximately 15%-25% off for the monthly stay, it depends on which type of guest room you reserved. Also, we offer 5% off your rent after the first week (the discount starts 2nd week).
What is mode of payment?
The best mode is to pay the rent by cash. Usually people pay their rent and
deposit at the check-in time.
What is the cancellation policy?
Deposit is refundable up to 15 days prior to reserved days, less a $25
administration service fee per room. Deposit is non-refundable within 15 days
prior to scheduled arrival/check out date we suggest you consider trip
cancellation insurance in the event of unforeseen changes in your plans.
May I get my refund if I have to leave early but I have A LONG-TERM Stay?
We need at least two weeks advance notice for the cancellation of remaining
days. If by any chance you do have to leave earlier, the refund will only be given if we can find someone to sublet your room for the remaining days of your stay.
Is Airport Pickup or Drop-off service is free for new comers.
No, the airport pickup or drop-off service is charged between $45-$50.
How big are your rooms.
Our rooms are between 12-18 square meters.
Do I have a lock for my room.
All rooms are private rooms. All doors have a lock, and you will bge provided with a set of keys for your room and the main entrance.
Is there ssmoking allowed in the rooms.
This is a non-smoking house. You can smoke at the front yard.
Can I cook in your house.
You can cook in our 2 complete guest kitchens. The kitche n is equipped with all things you need, include:fridge-freeer, stove, rice cooker, microways,
coffeemaker, cutlery, plate, dishes & cookware. You will feel right at home.
Will I have a phone and internet connection in my room.
All rooms have individual internet connection ready. If you have a laptop with
wireless internet connection you can access the network from anywhere in the
house. The telephone machines are provided in each room. The phone
number is shared between all residents. There is a 10 minute maximum call
period. If you would like to make a long distance call, they you are required to purchase a long distance calling card.
Are bed linen, pillow and towels provided.
Frfeshly laundered bed linen is provided. Towels are not provided.
Do you have a parking
yes, we do have free parking.
How safe is your Guest House for couples and Ladies.
Our main guests are new immgrants, They are nice, friendly and high
educated background, same like you.
Is there a mininum nights for stay.
Yes, you are required to have at least 3 nights stay.
What about if I have an over night friend at m accommodation.
You will hae to pay for any over night guests. We charged $5 more per person
per night.
What is the check-in and check-out time.
Preferred check-in 3-6 pm, but other times may be arranged, as long as
we know when to expect you. Arrival time musht be confirmed in advance; otherwise we may not be home when you arrivwe. Check-out is before 1:00 p.m.
Can we get assistance initially, although I saw your free Consultation
Services, I am curious to know more about these.
We are very happy to offer our free consultation services to our guests, because we were immigrants too, we have also passed the hard time on the first month we landed on Canada. it is our pleasure to share our experiences to the
newcomers.
Which month is better for new comers to arrive in Toronto as to adjust with
climate & weather.
It is hard to say. Each season has it is own specialty and new joys are brought to Toronto. It won t be cold in winter considering all of heaters in every house.
What is House Rules and Responsible?
House Rules and Responsible:
(a) The guest agrees to notify the Landlord of an intended absence of more than seven days and will permit the Landlord to enter the premises during the absence if reasonably necessary.
(b) The guest agrees not to assign or sublet the premises without the Landlord's written permission and consent.
(c) The guest agrees that there will be no other woman, men, or children sleeping over night in this room, unless agreed upon by Landlord.
(d) The guest agrees not to have any pets while an occupant on this property.
(e) Guest agrees that there will be no smoking of any substance on this property inside or outside, while an occupant on this property this includes guestĄ¯s friends and relatives.
(f) The guest agrees to remove all of their possessions and clean the room and bathroom at the occupied property before they vacate the property, value $200.00 if not done.
(g) The guest agrees not to do any landscaping, construction, painting, or put nails into the walls, to keep the same curtains, carpet in good shape in the bedroom and the bathroom. Only the kitchen is the place for cooking.
(h) The guest agrees to, create a quiet atmosphere, while an occupant at this property, quiet times are between 10:30 pm. to 8:00 am, Monday to Sunday inclusive, 7 days a week, which will allow other people in the home and neighbours to sleep during the night peacefully. Also if there is a shift worker in the home that sleeps during the day the quiet time comes into effect for this person.
(i) The guest agrees to keep the shared bathrooms and laundry machines and room clean after each use.
(j) The guest agrees to pay for their own telephone connection while an occupant at this property.
(k) The guest agrees that there will be no alcohol or illegal drugs on the premises inside or outside this includes guestĄ¯s friends and relatives.
(l) The guest agrees that there will be no loud disorderly parties, organized gatherings, or regular celebrations while an occupant at this property; this includes guestĄ¯s friends and relatives.
(m) The guest agrees to meet their friends or relatives occasionally during visiting hours of 10:00 am to 10:30 pm while an occupant at this property. The guest agrees guests are not to come regularly every day but periodically every now and then. (Once or twice a week)
(n) The guest agrees to, have a T.V. free environment in living room, kitchen, bathrooms and hallways, while an occupant at this property; a good location for a TV is in your bedroom.
(o) The guest agrees to, provide their own food, cook wares, bedding and toiletries, while an occupant at this property groceries, food preparation articles and cleaning products.
(p) Landlord shall at all times maintain the premises and appliances provided by himself in a
condition that complies with landlord guest act.
(q) The Landlord shall give 1 days notice of his intent to enter the guestĄ¯s premises during reasonable hours, but such notice need not be given in the event of an emergency or where the guest consents to the Landlord's entry without such notice being given. The guest agrees that the landlord must have a key to the lock on the door in case of emergency.
(r) The guest agrees to, have a head set over their ears as an audio device is working during the quite time, while an occupant at this property. This includes gaming devises.
(s) The guest agrees that they have no rights to the other guestĄ¯s personal finances, personal sexual life, or businesses, while occupant at this property. This also includes the Landlord/Owner.
(t) The guest agrees that, swearing, profane jesters, farting, nudity, only underwear and physical threats from guests or their friends will be grounds for agreement termination while a occupant at this property. Nudity should be kept in the bedrooms and bathrooms this includes farting and sexual behaviour.
(u) The guest agrees to close doors quietly and not to bang on doors walls or floors loudly at all times especially during the quiet times. If guest slams doors or bangs on the doors, walls or floors this behaviour will be grounds for agreement termination while an occupant at this property.
(v) The guest agrees to only eat in the kitchen area, if the guestĄ¯s room gets dirty with drinks and food stains the guest will pay to have the carpet cleaned once before leave our place .
(w) The guest agrees to only park their car on the drive way of their own parking lot in front of the property while an occupant at this property.
(x) The guest agrees to cook in the kitchen only.
(y) The guest agrees to create a study and deep thinking environment in the whole house so others can think or relax. This includes not play rock in roll or acid rock, punk, rap music. If this kind of music is desired, you agree to use a head set over your ears. Older Christian hymns music with out a heavy bass and heavy drumbeat or operate on very low volume is permitted.
Music that is quiet, relaxing, serene, calm and conducive to deep thinking and concentration is what will be permitted.
(z) The guest agrees to clean up their own cookware and food every time they use the kitchen and put their own cookware, food in the assigned carbine, fridge and freezer.
(zi) The guest agrees to separate the garbage in to compose, garbage, and recycle according to the law of Ontario and put into the recognized bin.
